Babysitterless Date Night
Dinner tonight was actually delicious. I cooked up some ground beef I had frozen since April and made angel hair pasta with meat sauce. Dissatisfied with the spaghetti, Bradley, Sarah, and Wendy ate yogurt.
Earlier today Emily asked me, “Mommy, what day is today?”
I replied, “Friday.”
She asked, “What babysitter are we going to have tonight?”
Sadly I told her that there wasn’t going to be a babysitter for quite a while because Daddy works for mean people. She was disappointed, but we made it up to her with a game of Disney Trivial Pursuit. Sadly but fortunately, my husband won the game quickly and we put the kids to bed and celebrated date night on the couch with the laptop computer trying to figure out additional sources of income and eating chocolate trinity ice cream with whip cream. Dinner and a movie is so overrated!
What’s your best babysitterless date night?
